Their evening spirals into terror when Violet gets a chilling message from an unknown sender demanding she kill Henry or her son and sister will be murdered.

The suspense-packed trailer, which dropped on Tuesday afternoon (March 25), reveals Fahy's character confiding in her date about the mysterious messages she's been getting over Bluetooth, reports .

Henry deduces that the perpetrator must be close by, noting "they've got to be within fifty feet to send a drop."

The stakes are raised even higher when Violet sees through her home security cameras that a masked intruder is threatening her loved ones. Desperate to protect her five year old child and sister, she faces the harrowing task of killing Henry to save them.

Joining the stellar lineup is Violett Beane, famed for her role as Jesse Wells in The CW's The Flash, alongside Gabrielle Ryan from The Detour, Ed Weeks of The Mindy Project, and Reed Diamond from Homicide: Life on the Street.

After its world premiere at South By Southwest Film Festival last month, the film has already started making waves with critics singing its praises.

"The term edge-of-your-seat gets thrown around a lot but, at various times, this movie truly earns it," said one Rotten Tomatoes critic.

Deadline had its say on the thrilling flick, claiming: "Drop speaks to a modern obsession with screens over human connection... It's also just a fun-ass thriller that puts all 100 minutes of runtime to good use."

The Hollywood Reporter wasn't short on praise, especially for the star performance: "There's a campiness to Drop's drama that makes the whole affair kind of silly, but Fahy's performance sells us on it."

Social media is buzzing after the latest trailer drop, with fans hyped and ready for the premiere. An excited Instagram user posted: "Saw this trailer in the theatre and it looks good. Def saved a reminder."

"I'M ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT" another fan exclaims, clearly eager.

On X, which took over from Twitter not long ago, Meghann Fahy's followers are counting down the days. "Anything with Meghann Fahy is an automatic win," tweeted a fan.

"I can't wait to see this," chimed in another, while a third said: "Looks like it's going to be a thrilling ride! Excited to see how it all unfolds."

The highly-anticipated Drop was brought to screen by Christopher Landon, well-known for his work on the spine-chilling Paranormal Activity series.

Drop releases in cinemas on April 11.
