Tim Seifert surpasses 1,500 T20I runs with 97* vs Pakistan

New Zealand's Tim Seifert ripped apart a hapless Pakistan side in the 5th and final T20I at Sky Stadium, Wellington, on Wednesday.

Seifert hammered a classy 97* from just 38 balls as New Zealand (131/2) chased down a target of 129. Pakistan were earlier restricted to 128/9.

Seifert and Finn Allen added 93 runs for the first wicket.

First six overs

NZ came out all guns blazing as the openers added 92 runs in the powerplay overs.

Seifert scored 63 of these runs off 26 balls whereas Allen managed 27 off 11.

Jahandad Khan, who started poorly, was smashed for 18 in the 1st over. He was also hit for 25 runs in the 6th over.

Mohammad Ali and Haris Rauf were dispatched as well.

Sufiyan Muqeem came in the 7th over and dismissed Allen, conceding 4 runs. Shadab Khan then gave away 7 runs before Muqeem took another wicket and conceded two.

The 10th over saw Seifert waste no time. He smashed 4 sixes in a 26-run over with Shadab being floored.

This was absolute carnage from Seifert, who was in impressive form throughout the series.
