Veteran comedian Jagdeep 81 passed away on the night of July 8 2020 from age-related issues. Jagdeep appeared in around 400 films but it was his role as Soorma Bhopali in 1975 blockbuster Sholay that became the defining milestone of his career. Years after Sholay his character in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Andaz Apna Apna also became fans favourite. Born in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia Jagdeep’s real name was Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri. He started his career with the 1951 film Afsana as a child artist. Jagdeep’s career was almost seven decades long and in that time he gave some memorable performances. He became a renowned comedian and went on to act in more than 400 films. During his long career he was a part of many wonderful projects including Aar Paar (1954) Khilona (1970) Gora Aur Kala (1972) Qurbani (1980) Shahenshah (1988) Phool Aur Kaante (1991) China Gate (1998) among others.
