Tax - changes: Middle class will get relief

There will be changes under the new tax slab from 1 April. According to Budget 2025, persons earning up to Rs 12 lakh annually will be exempted from paying tax. Apart from this, salaried employees will get standard deduction of Rs 75,000, which means that salary income up to Rs 12.75 lakh can now be free from tax. TDS limit on interest income for senior citizens has also been increased to Rs 1 lakh. Along with this, the exemption limit on rental income has been increased to Rs 6 lakh, which will provide relief for the landlords.
