Haldiram news: In a significant business development Alpha Wave Global an investor in Elon Musk’s SpaceX is in discussions to acquire a 6% stake in Haldiram Snack Food. Formerly known as Falcon Edge Capital Alpha Wave Global is part of the trillion-dollar business empire of UAE’s National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed according to an Economic Times report. As per the report Alpha Wave is planning to purchase the stake in the Indian snack giant for Rs 5160 crore. This marks the second instance of Haldiram’s selling its stake following Singapore-based investment firm Temasek’s earlier agreement with the company’s promoters to acquire approximately 9% ownership. Who is Sheikh Tahnoun Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed is the National Security Advisor of UAE. He is also the chairman of First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC. The business empire of the UAE Sheikh is worth around $1.5 trillion and his company is named Alpha Wave Global. Notably he had helped Gautam Adani with $ 2 billion during the Hindenburg scandal in the year 2022. About Haldiram Merger Haldiram or the global consortium was yet to confirm the development. The food chain is the combined packaged snacks and foods business of the Delhi and Nagpur factions of the Agarwal family. While Haldiram Foods International is led by the Nagpur faction Haldiram Snacks is led by the Delhi faction. Notably the two entities merged to create a new entity Haldiram Food and snacks as per a report by news agency IANS. The Nagpur-based faction registered Rs 3622 crore in revenue in FY22. The Delhi-based Haldiram Snacks Private Limited clocked Rs 5248 crore in sales in the same fiscal year. There have been other attempts in the past to acquire the food chain especially by VC firms like Bain Capital Warburg Pincus and General Atlantic according to reports.
