The movie in conversation is one such cult classic comedy film that will go down for the generations. It definitely is a pop culture speak with meme for every mood based on its scenes. The star cast boasts of famous headliners who are even bigger stars today. The film is none other than the iconic Welcome. A Comedy Film For The Ages Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Welcome was released in 2007. It featured Anil Kapoor Nana Patekar Paresh Rawal as the leading characters for comic relief. Feroz Khan Mallika Sherawat were also in the cast. This film dominated the box office for 25 weeks and became the second highest grosser of that year after Shah Rukh Khans Om Shanti Om . It still remains as one of the top watches on the OTT platform. This was loosely inspired by Hollywood film Mickey Blue Eyes. Reportedly the Anees Bazmee directorial was made with a budget of Rs 32 crores and earned about Rs 33 crores in its opening weekend! According to sacnilk report the movie minted Rs 119.50 crores in its worldwide gross collection. Even after almost 18 years of the film the story the scenes the comic performances still makes us laugh. Even when we know whats coming next even if not rolling over laughing like we did the first time we definitely have a smile on our faces! Thats a mark of a successful comedy film. Moreover  this comedy drama marked last film of the late veteran actor Feroz Khan in the industry.  He passed away on April 27 2009  after a long battle with lung cancer aged 69. The second installment - Welcome Back- was released in 2015 became a commercial success but was unble to match the supremacy of the original track. The third installment of the Welcome Franchise Welcome To The Jungle is scheduled for release in 2025. It will star Akshay Kumar Arshad Warsi Disha Patani Raveena Tandon Suniel Shetty Paresh Rawal and Lara Dutta in lead roles reportedly.
