New Delhi Luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz India said Thursday it would increase its presence in two future potential growth regions in the nation as private spending increases in tier 2 and tier 3 cities in the midst of a robust economy.
In 2024, Mercedes-Benz sold a record 19,565 new automobiles, making it the company’s greatest year in 30 years. The business sold 17,408 units in 2023.
The automaker has now opened brand-new, opulent facilities in Agra and Faridabad.
In a statement, the firm emphasized the rising significance of Uttar Pradesh as a crucial area with prospective development opportunities and said that it would increase its presence in other important markets, such as Kanpur and Varanasi, in the next months.
“With a wealthy clientele and rising demand for Mercedes-Benz automobiles, Agra is a significant market for Mercedes-Benz. As we see a strong market affinity for our ultra-luxury range, the demands of consumers in Agra are rapidly changing,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
With a posh plant in Lucknow, Mercedes-Benz already has a significant presence in Uttar Pradesh.
With more than 100 premium touchpoints dispersed over more than 50 cities, the carmaker boasts the greatest luxury network.
Mercedes-Benz India and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last month to promote road safety, environmental sustainability, and India’s industrial ecosystem.
The partnership will concentrate on developing organized initiatives that provide businesses access to capital, market connections, mentoring, and infrastructure. In order to produce long-term effects, the project will also guarantee information sharing and promote global cooperation.
In 2025, the premium automaker intends to introduce a minimum of eight new models. Iyer said that the business “will increase luxury touch points across India and focus on product portfolio.”
By the end of this year alone, the German automaker hopes to open 20 new touchpoints and spend Rs 450 crore in India over the next three years. By the second quarter of this year, Mercedes-Benz India also intends to introduce its much anticipated “AMG GLE 53 Coupe” model.
