This warning is not only limited to the iPhone – it also affects iPad, Apple Watch and Mac devices. CERT-in reported in its notice that “Apple products have reported several weaknesses in the products due to type confusion error, usage-free error, out-of-bound read, out-by-bound right problems, improper passing of files, problems in input verification, buffer overflow, path handling defects.”

Which devices are at risk?

This security fear affects the Apple device and a wide range of software versions, including the iPhone 16 series. According to the advice, many operating systems and applications are weak if they are not updated. The affected versions include older versions like iOS and iPados 18.4, as well as iOS 16.7.11 and 15.8.4, and iPados 17.7.6 and 15.8.4. In the case of desktop, Macos Sequoia version before 15.4, Macos Sonoma before 14.7.5 and Macos Ventura before 13.7.5 are also at risk.

In addition, the Apple Safari version before 18.4, the Apple Xcode before 16.3, the TVOS version before 18.4 and the Visionos version before 2.4 are potentially in the list of weak software.
