นายฌักแม็ง ชาบานี รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงกิจการภายในคองโก แถลงผ่านสถานีโทรทัศน์ว่าพบผู้เสียชีวิตอีก 10 ราย ส่งผลให้ยอดผู้เสียชีวิตเพิ่มเป็นอย่างน้อย 33 ราย
ขณะที่ทางการเร่งอพยพประชาชนออกจากพื้นที่กว่าครึ่งหนึ่งของกรุงกินชาซาที่มีน้ำท่วมเป็นบริเวณกว้างและเร่งช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยที่ยังตกค้างในบ้านพัก ด้านเจ้าหน้าที่ระบุด้วยว่าผู้เสียชีวิตส่วนใหญ่เป็นเหยื่อจากเหตุกำแพงพังถล่มเพราะน้ำท่วม
