In 2002 filmmaker Vikram Bhatt arrived on the big-screen with one of his most successful films of all time. Starring Bipasha Basu and Dino Raaz became the highest grossing film of the year and is considered one of Bollywoods most scary films. The film also marked the debut of Malini Sharma whose portrayal of ghost in the film made her an overnight star. She received numerous offers following her successful Bollywood debut but chose to stay away from the limelight. Malini began her career as a successful model and was also a part of many superhit music videos including Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag Kya Soorat Hai Ranjhar and Kitni Akeli. Despite all the fame and success Malinis love story was a heartbreaking one. She tied the knot with model and actor Priyanshu Chatterjee in 1997 but got divorced in 2001. She was devastated due to her failed marriage and decided to quit the industry as well. Her debut film Raaz was her last and final project. According to reports the actress was supposed to feature in the film Gunaah (2000) alongside Dino Morea but backed out two days before the shoot. Malinis turbulent personal life was the main reason that made her drift away from the limelight and live a life of nobody. On television she starred in successful shows like C.A.T.S. and Hum Don. Apart from acting she also ventured into art direction and worked in projects like Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic and Just Married. After that the actress completely vanished from the industry and there has been no whereabouts of her since then.
