On Wednesday, an 11-year-old Dalit girl who was raped and deaf and mute was discovered in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district. She had bite marks and cigarette burn scars on her body. The accused from the same village who was shot in the leg during the encounter has been taken into custody by UP Police, who have also begun questioning him.

Her family has been searching for the youngster since Tuesday night, when she vanished. Her father is a menial farmer in the hamlet. Her family was notified when a village guy discovered her unconscious in a field about 500 meters from her home on Wednesday morning. She was half-naked and had a swollen face. After being taken to a neighbouring hospital, she was transferred to Meerut for more care. Police have filed a formal complaint under the strict Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, alleging rape of a child and other pertinent offences.

After looking through local CCTV video, police named Dan Singh, 24, a resident of the same hamlet, as a suspect. According to police, he opened fire and was injured in the retaliatory gunfire as cops tried to take him into custody.

“This is a clear case of rape by one or more persons as there were multiple injuries on her private parts,” Dr. Anju Singh, who performed the girl’s medical assessment, told The Times of India. A blunt item had injured her face, causing it to swell. She couldn’t explain anything since she was so scared. It’s among the most horrifying sexual offences I’ve ever seen.

“My daughter is really scared,” the girl’s mother said. Since the event, she has been having fits.

According to Vidya Sagar Mishra, the head of police in Rampur, the girl’s mother filed a report with the police, stating that her daughter, who is mute, had been sexually attacked. We set up the girl’s medical checkup and filed a complaint. To find the accused, three teams were established. He started shooting at the police squad as we attempted to apprehend him. He was wounded by a gunshot that the police fired in self-defence. Electronic evidence against the accused is available to us. “They’re treating the girl,” he added.

The senior officer said that the CCTV video showed the accused conversing with the girl outside of her residence. “He then convinces her into accompanying him somewhere where she was raped.”
