How to get QR based PAN 2.0 card? See the complete process here

PAN 2.0: There is a big update for PAN cardholders. A PA AN card is an important document for paying taxes and proving your identity. Today, we are going to tell you about PAN 2.0. The purpose of PAN 2.0 is to provide service and security to taxpayers using modern technology. Under the new service of PAN 2.0, e-PAN cards with QR codes will be sent to the registered email ID of the applicants for free.

 

However, if you want a physical PAN card, then a nominal charge will have to be paid for it. The Income Tax Department has clarified that old PAN cards without QR code are also fully valid. Under the PAN 2.0 project, allotment, update or correction of PAN will be done for free. E-PAN will be sent to the registered email ID.

How to apply under PAN 2.0?

First of all, we'll go to the NSDL portal. Click on NSDL e-PAN Portal – https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html.

Enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number and date of birth.

Verify your information and choose how to receive a One-Time Password (OTP).

Enter your OTP and then make the payment.

There will be no fee for requesting e-PAN up to three times. After this, a charge of Rs 8.26 will be levied on each request.

After making the payment, e-PAN will be sent to your email in PDF format within 30 minutes.

2. How to apply for e-PAN through UTIITSL.

Visit the UTIITSL portal. Visit the e-PAN portal https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/PAN_ONLINE/ePANCard.

Enter your PAN number, date of birth and captcha code.

If the email is not registered, you will have to update it when PAN 2.0 is officially launched.

If it has been 30 days since the PAN was issued, e-PAN can be ordered in PDF format by email by paying a charge of ₹ 8.26.

Your e-PAN will be sent to your registered email ID in PDF format.

Features of PAN 2.0

E-PAN – This is available for free and can be sent to your email up to three times. A charge of Rs 8.26 will have to be paid for requesting more than this.

Physical PAN card will cost Rs 50 within India and Rs 15 plus postal charges for international delivery.

The security of PAN card has been enhanced through QR code. It helps in verifying the cardholder’s information and prevents the use of fake PAN cards.

PAN details, including email, ID, can be updated free of cost.

Is it necessary to replace the old PAN card?

Experts say that it would be better to replace the old white PAN card or the PAN card without a QR code with a new PAN card with a QR code. This is not only safe but will also help prevent cases of fraud.
