Mumbai Indians (MI) suffered a dramatic batting collapse before finishing on 155/8 in the all-important clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, May 6.

Mohammed Siraj got GT off to a great start after won the toss and invited Mumbai Indians to bat first. The Hyderabad pacer dismissed the in-form Ryan Rickelton off the second ball of the innings. Rohit Sharma also perished in the fourth over as Arshad Khan was rewarded for his probing spell with the new ball.

Will Jacks was dropped once each by B Sai Sudharsan and Siraj. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav was given a reprieve by Sai Kishore. All these dropped catches were inside the powerplay.

Jacks and Suryakumar forged a 71-run stand from just 43 deliveries to set Mumbai up for a strong finish. However, the middle-order came a cropper after the two set batters were dismissed in quick succession. From 97/2 in the 11th over, MI were reduced to 123/7 in the 17th. The Afghanistan T20 skipper praised fellow spinner Kishore for his performance and said that the Titans should win the match if the batters bat responsibly.

"I have missed my lengths (earlier in this tournament), made sure to hit the right areas. You are not in your best rhythm during rehab (after 3-4 months of the surgery), it takes time to get back to your best. I am getting there slowly, 75-80% there. I need to make sure that I get that surgery out of my mind. You need to hit the right areas as a spinner. The way Sai bowled his spell and took two wickets, it was good. We need to make sure whoever goes in to bat takes the responsibility of scoring those runs," Rashid said while speaking to JioHotstar after the innings.
