Pavitra Rishta's Usha Nadkarni mourns Priya Marathe's demise; says 'First Sushant Singh Rajput left us and now Priya'

The television industry is mourning the untimely death of actress Priya Marathe , who passed away at the age of 38 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Known for her roles in Pavitra Rishta , Kasamh Se, and Comedy Circus, Priya’s demise has left co-stars and fans shaken. Her colleagues from Pavitra Rishta, Usha Nadkarni and Anurag Sharma, have shared heartfelt tributes, remembering her as a warm, quiet, and talented soul.
Veteran actress Usha Nadkarni, who worked closely with Priya, shared her grief in an interaction with Tellychakkar. She said, “Priya was a very quiet girl, she used to only be concerned with her work, never did any masti or interfered with anyone on set. This wasn’t the age to leave us, she had just got married, she should’ve been starting a family, raising her kids.”
Recalling their time together, she added, “First Sushant (Singh Rajput) left us and now Priya — it’s like the heart and soul of Pavitra Rishta have gone. We spent about five and a half years shooting together, even visiting each other’s homes. She was always well-mannered and respectful. I had last met her at Ankita (Lokhande)’s home two years ago, and sadly, we couldn’t meet after that.”
Actor Anurag Sharma also took to social media to express his heartbreak. He wrote, “This is so unbelievable, heartbreaking news. I have lost a truly beautiful person, brilliant artist, and a friend. Thousands of memories spent with you are shuffling through my mind right now, but my hands are shivering. It was an honor to have shared the screen with Priya Marathe. She was a warm and generous soul whose laughter will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, mere dost Priya Marathe. Om Shanti.”
Priya’s passing has left a void in the industry, reminding many of the fragility of life. For her co-stars, she will always be remembered not just as a gifted actress but also as a kind-hearted colleague and friend.
