Ali Goni, who belongs to Muslim religion, spoke on the whole matter in an interview to Film Science. He said, “There was a lot of heat in that room. Then suddenly Jasmine grabbed my face. I was absolutely lost in my own thoughts. I had no idea that I had to say ‘Morya’ and it is so important. I did not even think about it.” Ali said that this was his first time he attended any such event. At that time, he was thinking something else, and he did not know that people would give this matter so much.
Ali also made it clear that he does not insult any religion. He said that if he had anything else in his mind, he would not have been involved in that event with so much enthusiasm and dress. Ali said, “People introduced this thing so much and dragged religion in it. I am not a person who insults any religion.”
Ali further revealed that some things are not allowed in his religion. He said, “There is no worship in my religion. We pray, read Namaz and respect all religions. It is also written in the Quran that every religion should be respected, and I do the same.” Ali took part in the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, but hesitated to say ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’, after which the trolls targeted him.
When Ali was asked what his girlfriend Jasmine Bhasin reacted to this trolling, Ali said, “Jasmine feels very bad when people drag him into these controversies. People say that I will kill him or put him in the freezer.” Ali angrily said that people doing such things are unable to do anything in their lives, so they are engaged in degrading others.
