ISRO will launch Communication and Multimedia Satellite-03 (CMS-03) on November 2 from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

India is ready to take another high leap in space. On November 2, Indian Space Agency ISRO will launch its much awaited and heaviest Communication and Multimedia Satellite-03 (CMS-03). After being launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center located in Sri Harikota, Andhra Pradesh, it will give a new direction to the future of satellite communication.

This will increase India's technical power. There will also be a new beginning of digital revolution in the lives of crores of citizens of the country. Let us know what will be the benefits of the launch of India's heaviest satellite CMS-03 and how will it work?

How is Multi Band Military Communication Satellite?

CMS-03 is a multi-band military communications satellite, also known as GSAT-7R. It will be launched through the country's most powerful Rocket Launch Vehicle Mark 3 (LVM3). This 4400 kg satellite will be the heaviest satellite of ISRO, which will be launched from Indian soil in Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO). CMS-03 is part of ISRO's GSAT series, which has been specially designed to meet the growing communication needs of the country.

Will be installed at an altitude of 36 thousand kilometers

It will be installed in Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) at an altitude of about 36 thousand km from the earth. At this altitude the satellite remains above only one area of the earth. Due to this, communication services are provided without any interruption. Communication services will be further strengthened through this satellite equipped with Ku-band and C-band transponders. In simple language, high quality live telecast and high speed internet service is possible only through Ku-band and C-band transponders.

Specially designed for Navy

GSAT-7R has been specially designed for the Indian Navy, which will replace the GSAT-7 Rukmini satellite launched in 2013. GSAT-7R with upgraded payloads is designed to provide secure and multiband communications services for the Indian Navy, which will provide the Navy with enhanced reach in maritime operations. The payloads of CMS-03 will support C, Extended C and Ku band voice, data and video links. Obviously, through these, this satellite will strengthen the Navy's communication system. Along with this, it will provide high capacity bandwidth, due to which digital access can be established even in remote areas. This will also help civil agencies.

The transponders of this satellite will provide stable signal along with more data transfer and are capable of working for at least 15 years. That means it will provide service for a long period. The latest indigenous technology has been used in this satellite, which makes it the most advanced communication system of ISRO. The most important thing is that this satellite will be able to provide signal coverage to India as well as neighboring countries.

Understand the benefits in easy language

The benefits of CMS-03 can be understood in simple language that through its high-tech transponder, Direct to Home (DTH) and telephone networks will improve. Clear signals will be able to reach even remote areas. Even in areas where optical fiber cable cannot be laid, high speed internet service can be provided through this satellite. That means, be it mountains or sea, high speed internet will work everywhere. This satellite will provide accurate weather data about natural disasters like cyclone, earthquake and flood etc. as well as maintain emergency communication system.

Apart from all this, CMS-03 will reduce the country's dependence on foreign satellites. Will strengthen indigenous technological self-reliance. It will play an important role in reducing the digital gap between rural and urban areas. India will register its strong presence among companies like SpaceX and Starlink, known for their communication services across the world, through such satellites. This satellite will not only increase India's communication capacity, the country's space program will also reach new heights.

Will be launched with the most powerful rocket

ISRO will launch CMS-03 with its heaviest and most powerful rocket LVM-3, which has made important missions like Chandrayaan-3 successful. It successfully carried Chandrayaan-3 to the Moon, making India the first country to land on the Moon's South Pole. Now this rocket will create a new record by taking CMS-03 satellite to GTO. After this, CMS-03 will reach the final orbit with the help of its engine and start its work. This will be the fifth operational flight of the LVM3-M5 prepared for this launch. The success of the LVM3 rocket will also lay a foundation for India's future space missions like Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan-4 etc.
