The company has announced to invest more than US $ 35 billion (approximately ₹ 3.15 lakh crore) in India by 2030. This investment of Amazon in India will be different from the approximately $40 billion made since 2010.
Amazon is going to invest more than 5 billion dollars in India in the coming five years. Through this investment, the company would like to accelerate AI-based digital transformation in India, promote exports and create new opportunities for employment.
Amazon says that this investment is to India’s national strategy, under which the government is trying to strengthen local AI. The company estimates that its new plan will create 10 lakh new jobs by 2030. India’s exports will increase four times to reach 80 billion dollars. With this, 1.5 crore small traders will get direct benefit of AI technology. Along with strengthening small traders, Indian products will also get strength in the global market.
After this big announcement of Amazon, the company’s Senior Vice President Amit Aggarwal said that the company has been an important part of India’s digital transformation journey for the last 15 years. Amazon will continue to contribute to India’s development and make AI easy and accessible for millions of Indians.
