Before the assembly elections in West Bengal, the full bench of the Election Commission led by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is reaching Kolkata on Sunday evening. The Election Commission team will hold a meeting with representatives of political parties and police and top officials on Monday. Before the Election Commission meeting, State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has attacked the Election Commission and termed the Election Commission as Vanish Commission and said that BJP is misusing the Vanish Commission to remove the names of legitimate voters.
Mamata Banerjee Alleged that an unprecedented and direct attack is being made on the democratic foundation. The Bharatiya Janata Party, which talks about 'one nation, one leader, one party', is systematically misusing every democratic institution and constitutional post.
Mamata Banerjee said that for years a section of central agencies, national commissions and judiciary has been pitted against Bengal. They are misusing the ruined commission to remove names of legitimate voters from the voter list.
With this, the full bench of the commission including Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will reach Kolkata on Sunday evening. Gyanesh Kumar will hold a meeting with political parties on Monday. Before that, he will visit Kalighat temple on Monday morning. Will worship there. The Chief Election Commissioner is scheduled to visit Belur Math again on Tuesday.
The final list of SIR was published on 28 February. However, 60 lakh names are in the unresolved list. Political parties have demanded that elections should not be held until the unresolved list is settled. In such a situation, speculation is increasing as to when the voting schedule will be announced.
Will the commission reach any decision after the meeting with political parties? Yesterday, state CEO Manoj Aggarwal said he did not know anything about the voting schedule. The commission will take a decision on this matter. In this environment, the entire bench of the Election Commission including Gyanesh Kumar is coming to the state on Sunday.
