
On the occasion of martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Hussainiwala in Firozpur, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann once again reiterated the government's commitment to build Rangla Punjab. During this, the Chief Minister paid tribute at the historic National Martyr Memorial. Honored the families of martyrs. Also laid the foundation stone of Hussainiwala Heritage Complex to be built at a cost of Rs 24.99 crore.
Chief Minister Honor Said that this is an occasion not only to remember the sacrifice of those heroes, but also to convey their ideals and determination to stand against injustice to the coming generations. He reiterated his resolve to serve Punjab and the country in accordance with the great thinking of the martyrs. Besides, questions were also raised on the Bharat Ratna not being given to these great freedom fighters till now.

The Chief Minister said that no one can even imagine at what cost we got independence. Around 10 lakh people lost their lives and lakhs were displaced during partition. Our elders made a lot of sacrifices, but those in power failed to understand this pain. No one thought of honoring great martyrs like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru and Shaheed Sukhdev.
He further said that it is very unfortunate that we even had to struggle to name Mohali airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He further said that Halwara airport is being named after Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, whom Shaheed Bhagat Singh considered his guru.
Earlier, while laying the foundation stone of Hussainiwala Heritage Complex, the Chief Minister said that this project costing Rs 24.99 crore is a humble effort to pay tribute to our great martyrs and preserve their legacy for the future generations. He said that the objective of this project is to develop the heritage area in Hussainiwala as well as promote tourism in Punjab.
He said that this complex will include a grand entrance, gallery dedicated to the lives of martyrs, murals, beautification and landscaping of parks and memorial sites. Apart from this, theme based paintings related to historical events, 3-D mapping show on the old bridge, a musical fountain, play area for children, resting place for senior citizens, on-grid solar power plant and RO plant for clean drinking water will also be installed.
