If you are a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, then you must be waiting for the next installment of Rs 2,000. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released the 22nd installment of PM Kisan Yojana during a program organized in Guwahati, Assam on March 13, 2026. However, now about 9.46 crore farmer families of the country are waiting for the 23rd installment.
At present, no official announcement has been made by the government regarding its date. PM-KISAN is one of the most popular schemes of the Central Government, under which direct financial assistance is provided to eligible farmer families.
Although the government has not yet announced the date of the 23rd installment, it can be estimated based on the previous payment pattern of the scheme. Under PM Kisan Yojana, three installments are released in a year.
The 22nd installment was released for the period December 2025 to March 2026. In such a situation, the 23rd installment covering the period April-July 2026 is likely to be released in June or July 2026.
Under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 6,000 is given every year to eligible farmer families. This amount is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the farmers in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. Its objective is to provide financial assistance to farmers for farming and related needs.
The benefit of this scheme is available to those farmer families in whose name cultivable land is registered. A farmer family consisting of husband, wife and minor children is considered. However, the benefit of the scheme is not available on such land which is not cultivable or which is being used for purposes other than agriculture.
To avail the benefits of PM-KISAN scheme, it is mandatory to get e-KYC done. Farmers can use the facility of OTP based e-KYC, biometric e-KYC or face authentication based e-KYC. Its status can also be seen online about 24 hours after completion of e-KYC.
