After the crushing defeat in West Bengal, TMC's troubles are showing no sign of abating. After the formation of a separate group of 58 rebel MLAs in Kolkata, now 19 TMC MPs have become rebels, the letter signed by whom is with TV9 Bharatvarsha. Rebel MPs of TMC have given a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. In this letter, the rebel TMC MPs have demanded from the Lok Sabha Speaker to give them the status of a separate group under Para 4 and Para 4(2) of the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution.
TMC Of the current 28 Lok Sabha MPs, two-thirds i.e. 19 MPs are in the rebel group, hence the provisions of the Tenth Schedule will not apply to them and their membership will remain intact. This group has also demanded to allot a separate sitting place in the Lok Sabha.This rebel group is being led by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, who has been the Chief Whip of TMC.
The MPs who rebelled under the leadership of Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar also include those faces who were said to be close to Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee. The rebel MPs who have signed the letter include Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Shatabdi Roy, Jagdish Chandra, Khaliur Rahman, Abu Tahir Khan, Yusuf Pathan, Bapi Halder, Sayoni Ghosh, Partha Bhowmik, Mala Roy, Mithali Bagh, Deepak Adhikari, Kalipada Soren, June Malia, Arup Chakraborty, Sharmila Sarkar, Prasun Banerjee, Asit Kumar Mal and Rachna Banerjee.

According to the information, this rebel group will meet the Lok Sabha Speaker on Monday and will put forward their demand for a separate group. According to sources, after getting the status of a separate group from the Lok Sabha Speaker, this rebel group will claim to be the real TMC and will also approach the Election Commission and the court to take possession of the party's symbol and office.
Let us tell you that before this, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav and Bengal Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari had held a meeting with the rebel MPs in Delhi and after this meeting, TMC's rebel MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar had claimed that there are about 19 rebel MPs with her and she had written a letter to the Speaker demanding the formation of a separate faction.
Before this, TMC has also split in the legislative party. Under the leadership of Ritabrata Banerjee, 58 MLAs have formed a separate faction from TMC and the Assembly Speaker has also recognized this faction and given Ritabrata Banerjee the status of Leader of Opposition. A petition was also filed against this in the Calcutta High Court on behalf of TMC, but the court gave relief to Ritabrata Banerjee in this matter and upheld the Speaker's decision.
