Lucknow's special court has sentenced 15 people who illegally infiltrated into India to 5 years each. Along with this, a fine of Rs 10,000 each has also been imposed on these people. These include 13 Bangladeshi citizens and two Rohingyas. ATS had arrested many members of this gang on 26 October 2021.
Those who have been sentenced by the NIA court include Mahfuzur Rehman, Al Amin Ahmed, Khokhan Sardar, Alauddin Tariq, Jamil Ahmed, Hussain Mohammad Fahad, Shakhawat Khan, Asidul Islam, Zainul Islam, Rajeev Hussain, Mominur Islam, Mehndi Hasan, Shaon Ahmed, Mohammad Jamil and Noor Amin. Nearly five years after Uttar Pradesh ATS busted a cross-border smuggling network, NIA court judge Umakant Jindal delivered this verdict,
All of them had come from Bangladesh and were hiding in West Bengal. Under the conspiracy, Mithun Mandal, Vikram Singh, Mehfooz and Sameer Mandal alias Tony, Mohammad Jamil and some others are infiltrating Bangladeshi citizens into India.
Investigation revealed that these people form a syndicate and allow citizens of Bangladesh and Myanmar to enter India illegally. Even fake Indian Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and passports are being made for these people. ATS told the court that passports of many Bangladeshis and Rohingyas have been made on the basis of fake documents, and they have also been sent to many countries through human trafficking. In October 2021, all of them were arrested by ATS from different places. ATS completed the investigation and filed a charge sheet in the court against all the accused.
Actually, ATS was getting information for a long time that as part of a criminal conspiracy, Mithun Mandal, Vikram Singh, Mahfuzur, Sameer Mandal alias Tony, Mohd. Jamil and some others are infiltrating people from Bangladesh into India. These people were forming a syndicate to illegally enter the India-Bangladesh border and make fake Aadhar cards, PAN cards and passports of people from Bangladesh and Myanmar to change their identity and establish them as Indian citizens.
