Manchester United are reportedly preparing a move to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes during the upcoming summer transfer window.

As per Football Insider, the 25-year-old Brazilian will be available for a transfer fee of around £30 million. Following Wolves’ relegation, Gomes is eager to secure a move away from Molineux, and the chance to join Manchester United is expected to be highly appealing for him.

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their midfield with more technical quality and control, and Gomes appears to be a fitting option at a reasonable price. Despite Wolves’ struggles last season, he consistently delivered strong performances and demonstrated his ability to compete at a top level. His presence would add composure, physicality, and balance to Manchester United’s midfield setup.

However, Liverpool have also entered the race for the Brazilian midfielder. It remains to be seen whether either club will meet the £30 million valuation. Both sides have the financial muscle to complete the deal, and the asking price is considered fair given Gomes’ experience and proven quality in the Premier League. He is already well adapted to English football and could make an immediate contribution to whichever team signs him.

Gomes is keen to resolve his future quickly and hopes to secure a move to a major club before the new season begins. Both Manchester United and Liverpool can offer UEFA Champions League football in the upcoming campaign, and Gomes will be hoping that one of them will submit an acceptable offer soon.

Both clubs have faced issues in midfield over the past season and are expected to reinforce their squads ahead of the new campaign. Manchester United have already completed signings for Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, while Liverpool are yet to make additions to address their midfield challenges.
