Apart from its scenic locations, tourist spots, snow-capped views and vibrant culture, Kashmir is also known for its rich gastronomic fare. When you talk about the food from this region, you can't skip the wholesome Kashmiri Wazwan. Telling us more about it in detail is Nauheed Cyrusi through her latest post on Instagram. In her video, we can spot the actress wearing a vibrant Kashmiri outfit with her head covered with a veil. At the start, she can be seen seated and washing her hands in a portable, hand-engraved copper basin set, traditionally known as tash-t-naer. Meanwhile, her voiceover goes, “She who is seeing the darkness of Kashmir, is experiencing the first wisdom of her life.” (This Kashmir's Kali is experiencing her first wisdom). We can also see people gathered around and enjoying a similar feast.

She further goes on to explain, “A wazwan is a multi-course ceremonial meal in Kashmiri cuisine. Where normally locals collect four or five pieces and eat from a big plate.” (In this, locals gather in a group of four or five people and enjoy the food from a single thaal). It features up to 36 dishes and is predominantly mutton-based. However, at this hotel, guests can opt for a vegetarian option too. So there's my rajma, there's his mutton meatball, and there's my Nadru's yakhni and there's Rustom's mutton yakhni. (So, where I have my rajma, he has his mutton meatball, and where I have my nadru ki yakhni, Rustom has his mutton yakhni). I learned today that nadru, which is lotus stem, is a big part of the Kashmiri cuisine. Did you know? (Were you aware of it?) And of course, the haak ka saag! It's like a saag that you've never tasted before. Like, I can't compare it to anything else. For the non-vegetarians, the Laal maas and the Tabak maaz were a very big hit.”

We could see glimpses of these vibrant delights in the video. There are a variety of rice dishes, kebabs and mouth-watering curries. A video in between also showcases the actress enjoying the food with her hands.

And then the dessert arrives: kheer along with some absolutely delicious halwa. Nauheed concluded her video by saying that there definitely was a secret ingredient in every dish, and that was long time love (lots of love), which you could taste in every single bite, and of course the meal ended with a hot coffee (hot coffee) And this is a very true saying that one can learn hospitality from Kashmiris. (One should learn hospitality from Kashmiris).
