Taiwanese actress Shu Qi and Australian singer Kimberley Chen found themselves craving food while stuck at home during typhoon Gaemi.
“It’s very windy and rainy outside,” Shu Qi wrote in Chinese on her Facebook page on July 24. “It’s so weird. I usually don’t have such a strong craving for takeaway food, but for the sake of safety, please stay home and don’t run around.”
She shared a photo, saying: “I have to sit at the table with an empty stomach, with the computer switched on while I stare at the storm outside the window.”

Fans noticed a piece of cake, a can of Coca-Cola, and a bottle of green tea on her table, while some suggested she could eat instant noodles, according to The Straits Times.

On Thursday, typhoon Gaemi flooded several Taiwanese cities and towns, injuring more than 700 people and killing seven as well as sinking a freighter off the island’s coast, according to Reuters.
Rescuers pulled nearly 1,000 people out of floodwater in inflatable boats, the Taiwan government said.
