During the promotion of the film, R Madhavan shared an anecdote of Shahrukh Khan joining 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect', for which he did not take any money.
R Madhavan was in New Delhi for the promotion of 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'. He told that Shahrukh Khan himself had asked him to do any role in the film. Sharing the anecdote, he told that Shahrukh Khan had taken an update about his film from him. After listening to which, he asked him to do a role in the film. R Madhavan said, "Shahrukh told me that I want to be a part of the film, any role in the background will do for me. At first I thought that he was joking with me, while Shahrukh said that he was not joking. Later I wrote thank you to him in the message itself, but shortly after that I got a call from his assistant."
His assistant asked R Madhavan about Shahrukh Khan's dates on the call, even at that time he thought that Shahrukh Khan was joking. But later his assistant confirmed to me that Shahrukh was not joking about the role in this film. R Madhavan said, "I cannot pass Shahrukh Khan in the background in my film. However, there is a role in the film which is important." After that his assistant asked him how many dates he needed. After everything was fixed, Shahrukh Khan played his character in the film in Hindi and English. R Madhavan told that Shahrukh did not take any money for his costume and assistant. Shahrukh Khan has played the role of a journalist in the film.

This film is based on the life of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan. Nambi Narayanan was arrested in 1994 in a spying case. 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2022. This film has also been given many awards. Nambi himself has played a 15-minute role in the film.
