In the Chhapra district of Bihar, a sad occurrence occurred when a boat overturned while trying to save sixteen people from flooded regions. The catastrophe happened on Thursday night close to the Jaitia Powerhouse. An electric shock was caused when the vessel struck an electric pole.

The incident occurred at around 6:30 PM when the boat was navigating through the rising waves, according to Saran Police. The 16 persons in the crash—including the sailor—were thrown into the sea, according to Rajnandan, the head of the Sonpur Police Station.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local divers were on the site promptly. Thankfully, ten people were saved, although Bhushan Rai and Kameshwar Rai suffered burn injuries and are now being treated at a nearby hospital. Search efforts are still on because, sadly, four more people—Mukesh Kumar, Mrityunjay Kumar, Nagendra Rai, and Bhishma Kumar—remain unaccounted for.

Senior authorities are in charge of the search and rescue operations, and the Saran Police have sent officers to the scene to protect public safety. “The injured are being treated, and the search for the missing individuals is ongoing with the assistance of local divers and the SDRF team,” the police told the public.
