Last year i.e. in 2023, IIFA was organized in the month of May and in the year 2022, IIFA was organized in the month of June. Both were hosted by Salman Khan, but this time Salman could not give time to IIFA even if he wanted to, because at present he is completing the shooting of his film 'Sikander' so that he can find time for the busy schedule of Bigg Boss. IIFA co-founder Andrea Timmins has also confirmed this.
Talking about IIFA 2024, co-founder Andrea Timmins had said that Salman Khan is our family for us and we have known each other for almost 30 years. that every IIFA Has been a part of and this year we are missing him a lot. Actually, it was always my dream to bring Salman and Shahrukh together on the stage of IIFA. But unfortunately, due to the busy schedule of Bigg Boss and shooting of his films, Salman could not attend IIFA this year. Although Andrea Timmins hoped that Salman would take out time on September 28 and come to Dubai to attend the show, but it did not happen.

When any award show is organized abroad, the artist along with his family and his team also travel with him. In such a situation, the expenses of his first class travelling, his stay in 5 star hotels, food and drinks and his traveling in luxury cars are borne by the organizer committee of the show. When these award shows are held in Mumbai, the expenses are very less. This is the reason why all the Bollywood actors are not able to attend the award functions held abroad.
