From tomorrow on, the UP government will set up 4000 sites to buy paddy

Tomorrow, people in Uttar Pradesh will start buying paddy. On Monday, officials said that the buying process will happen at different times in each area of the Lucknow division. In particular, buying will start on October 1 in Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur. In Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Unnao, and other places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, it will start on November 1.

There is a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,300 per quintal for paddy. The price for paddy grade A is Rs 2,320 per quintal. Along with that, farmers will get Rs 20 per quintal back for dumping, sorting, and cleaning the rice. 4,000 buy centers have been set up by the Food and Civil Supplies Department and other purchasing agencies to make it easier for farmers in all of the state’s areas to sell their paddy. Farmers should get their money within 48 hours, according to the Yogi government.

The Department began taking registrations for farmers who want to sell their paddy on September 1. In the first 30 days, about 32,000 farmers from across the state have already done so. The Agriculture Department says that 61.24 lakh fields will be used to grow rice during the Kharif selling year 2024-25, and that 265.54 lakh metric tonnes will be produced. It is expected that the average yield will be 43.36 quintals per acre.

In the areas of Western Uttar Pradesh, the buying of paddy will start on October 1 and go on until January 31. This process of buying things will happen in the regions of Meerut, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Agra, Aligarh, and Jhansi. In addition, during this time, rice will be bought in the areas of Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur in the Lucknow Division.
