The Gujarat government has announced plans to celebrate 23 years of the state’s development journey under the leadership of Narendra Modi, starting from October 7 to 15. The week-long celebration, termed ‘Vikas Saptah,’ honors the milestones achieved since Modi first took oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister on October 7, 2001.

The decision was made during a specially convened meeting of the state cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Government spokesperson and senior minister Rushikesh Patel, while addressing the media, highlighted that Gujarat has witnessed significant growth across various sectors under Modi’s leadership—first as Chief Minister and later as Prime Minister.

The government has decided to celebrate ‘Vikas Saptah’ annually, with this year’s events featuring a variety of programs across the state. The celebrations will include cultural presentations by local artists and other multipurpose initiatives aimed at showcasing Gujarat’s development story.
