Six years of software support on Samsung's new Galaxy A16 5G mid-range phone

Delhi Delhi. Samsung has launched its new mid-range smartphone Galaxy A16, which is providing six years of Android version updates and security patches. This is an industry first for a phone at this price, even though Samsung ensures up to seven years of software support on its high-end Galaxy S and Galaxy Z devices. Galaxy

A16 5G It is priced at EUR 249, which is approximately Rs 23,000. However, it is currently listed on the Samsung France website, indicating its availability in France – at least initially. The company hasn't said anything about whether the phone will be available outside France, but rumors suggest it will launch in India soon.

The Galaxy A6 5G will receive new Android version upgrades and security patches until October 2030. This is more than any current smartphone at this price, but only time will tell whether this offering will be able to attract customers. What's more, the Galaxy A16 5G features notable improvements, including a larger 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards up to 1.5TB.

OneUI Based on 6.1, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G sports a 50MP main, 5MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro cameras on the back. Its selfie camera has a 13MP sensor, which is inside the waterdrop notch on the display. The smartphone packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W charging and has an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
