India has unveiled its 18-member squad for the upcoming five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia, beginning on November 22. Rohit Sharma will lead the team, which includes a solid mix of seasoned players and rising stars. However, the absence of pacer Mohammed Shami is a major talking point, as he was working against the clock to be fit for the series.

Kuldeep Yadav will also miss out, as he continues to manage a chronic left groin issue. The BCCI confirmed in a statement that Kuldeep has been referred to the BCCI Centre of Excellence for a long-term resolution after the ongoing New Zealand series. His absence has left a gap in India’s spin arsenal, but the squad remains robust with options in both pace and spin.

The reserves for the series include Mukesh Kumar, Navdeep Saini, and Khaleel Ahmed, providing additional depth in pace options.
