So far 10 children have died in the Jhansi Medical College fire. Whereas Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been active since the accident. Taking cognizance of the incident, CM Yogi has sent Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak to Jhansi along with the Health Secretary. Along with this, he has also given instructions to submit the investigation report within 12 hours. CM Yogi has expressed grief over the incident.

At the same time, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Brajesh Pathak, who is handling the responsibility of Health and Medical Department, said in a post on X, the death of several newborn babies in the unfortunate accident of fire in the NICU of Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College, Jhansi is extremely sad and heartbreaking. Pathak said, instructions have been given to the district administration and concerned officials to conduct relief and rescue operations on war footing. I am also reaching the accident site. It is a prayer to Lord Shri Ram to grant peace to the virtuous souls and speedy recovery to the injured.
Congress leader and former Union Minister Pradeep Jain Aditya said that many newborn babies died and many are struggling for their lives. The biggest issue is that children who have suffered up to 40 percent burns can get infection. The biggest goal is to save those children.
In fact, late on Friday night, a massive fire broke out in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (SNCU ward) of Maharani Lakshmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi. In this, 10 newborn babies died due to scorching and suffocation. Chief Medical Superintendent Sachin Mahour told that 54 children were admitted in the NICU ward, suddenly a fire broke out inside the oxygen concentrator. Efforts were made to extinguish the fire but since the room was highly oxygenated, the fire spread rapidly. Many children were saved. 10 children died. The injured children are undergoing treatment.
As soon as information about the accident was received, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. The army has also been called. Army and fire brigade vehicles are busy extinguishing the fire. There is chaos in the hospital premises due to the death of 10 newborns. Eyewitnesses said that smoke was seen coming out from the SNCU ward at around 11.45 pm, after which the people present there raised an alarm. But before anyone could understand anything, flames started rising. Within a short time the fire completely engulfed the ward.
Immediately after the accident, efforts were made to take out the newborns. However, the newborns could not be taken out due to smoke and flames at the door. However, after some time, when fire brigade vehicles arrived, the newborns could be taken out. Till the time of writing the news, bodies of 10 newborns have been taken out from the ward. At present the rescue work was going on.
