Cocoblu Retail Amazon’s largest seller in India is gearing up to enter the quick commerce space. According to an Economic Times report citing recent filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC) Cocoblu’s parent company Rattan India has renamed one of its existing entities to Cocoblu Quick Commerce. The company has also updated its objectives signaling a shift from wholesale trade to retail with a focus on fast deliveries. These filings sourced from business intelligence platform Tofler highlight the company’s strategic pivot towards the growing quick commerce market. Amazon’s Quick Commerce Push This move coincides with Amazon India testing its quick commerce pilot in Bengaluru where employees are trialing the service. Branded as Tez the service is expected to roll out to the public in the coming weeks with Cocoblu Retail playing a central role as the primary seller. Cocoblu has been one of Amazon’s top sellers since the closure and divestment of former key merchants like Cloudtail and Appario Retail. The seller’s existing partnership with Amazon positions it to support the U.S.-based e-commerce giant’s quick commerce ambitions in India effectively. Amazon VS Blinkit Zepto Swiggy Flipkart Minutes BigBasket  Amazon’s entry into quick commerce comes at a time when competitors such as Flipkart Minutes and BigBasket are scaling up their operations. These players along with established leaders like Blinkit Zepto and Swiggy Instamart are shaping India’s $45 billion quick commerce market which is projected to grow to $77 billion by 2025 according to a report by Bernstein. As a late entrant Amazon faces the challenge of carving out market share in a space already dominated by strong competitors. Cocoblu’s deep integration with Amazon’s existing infrastructure is expected to provide a competitive edge in this battle. Focus On Essentials Amazon plans to launch its quick commerce service with a limited range of stock-keeping units (SKUs) focusing primarily on groceries and other daily essentials. Rattan India’s consumer brands already sold via Cocoblu Retail on Amazon could also be included in the quick delivery service further leveraging its product portfolio. Other Top Sellers In addition to Cocoblu other leading sellers on Amazon India include Clicktech Retail RK World Infocom RetailEZ and EtradeOnline. Notably Clicktech Retail acquired Appario Retail as part of Amazon’s strategy to divest stakes in key sellers on its platform. The pilot phase of Tez in select Bengaluru neighborhoods represents Amazon’s first step toward competing in India’s burgeoning quick commerce market.
