They also went on to add: “John has seen a lot of players do their own podcasts and thinks he will have a lot of appeal. It’s likely his show will have a strong focus but he’ll go into other areas.”

Terry enjoyed a trophy-laden career, leading Chelsea to their first top flight success in fifty years when they claimed glory in 2005. He won numerous other honours, including the back in 2012.

Terry has appeared on podcasts since retiring. Last year he featured on Up Front with Simon Jordan, where he underlined his love and admiration for Mourinho, who still has an emotional pull for the Blues icon.

He said: “I think I owe him a huge amount for my career and the direction it went in. He still frightens me to death, when I see a video of him or he calls me out of the blue, but I’ve just got so much respect for him, for what he’s done for me and Chelsea. Chelsea means everything to me, so yeah, [I’m] very emotional.”
