The Brazilian at the Bernabeu. That situation has seen him become a target for clubs in the Saudi Pro League, for the 24-year-old.

That would make him the most expensive player in the history of the game. But he remains a key man for Carlo Ancelotti, who has seen his side stutter in the title race ahead of this week's last 16 first leg clash against Atletico Madrid.

"I am very calm because my contract lasts until 2027 and I hope to renew my contract as soon as possible because I am happy here," he said. "I am living the dream of playing with the best players in the , the best coach, the best president, the best fans.

"Here everybody loves me so much. I couldn't be in a better place. My child dream was to make it here. Now I have managed to make it to here, I am writing my story.

"I have won but I can still win much more and make it into the history of the club. That is very complicated because many good players have been here, legends, and I want to be just like them.

"I'm still experiencing incredible things with this shirt, fulfilling my dreams and I hope we can continue like this, we've started to play better since we played against City. We have to play a great game for our fans"

Vinicius scored in last season's Champions League final and is keen to win the trophy once again this season. First, Los Blancos have to get past Atletico, with Vinicius set to play a key role.

"It will be a great match, a derby is what we like. We always look forward to these matches and it will be my first time in the Champions League against Atlético... it will be a great celebration for our fans," he added.

"Right now I'm at my best. I've had injuries. With so many games you can't be 100% in all of them. Playing 80 games you can't always be at your best. You're not always in top form or physically fit. Many players are playing with discomfort.

"I think my season is going well. It's normal that people demand more from me and want more from me. But now the decisive moment of the season has arrived and at Madrid we're playing better at this point in the season."
