New Delhi: Hardik Pandya responded to inquiries regarding Indias choice to refrain from traveling to Pakistan for then ICC Champions Trophy while also discussing the teams success and his own experiences. Pandya expressed gratitude for the backing from fans in Pakistan remarking “I believe the Pakistani community in Dubai appreciated our performance. The matter of why we didn’t attend is beyond my authority.”
He spoke about the defeat in the 2017 Champions Trophy final to Pakistan indicating a feeling of vindication. Having won now I feel like I have made up for that loss in the 2017 final. However eight years is a considerable amount of time and many events have transpired since then. For me Indias victory is significant. Our supporters at home are pleased; this is the best we can provide.
Pandya highlighted the importance of teamwork and camaraderie within the group stating This team values each other’s presence and achievements. It is not focused on individual efforts. It represents Team India.
We all share the belief that everyone has the potential to complete the game or achieve something extraordinary. We are united by a common objective; individual scores are irrelevant as long as the team achieves victory.
He expanded on his personal beliefs and approach to the game. Winning has always been my goal in cricket. This isnt merely talk; I prioritize the team over my individual performance. Whether Hardik Pandya performs well or not is irrelevant as the success of the team is what truly matters. This attitude has enabled me to confront difficulties and has shown me the importance of facing challenges head-on.
When faced with difficulties confront them head-on. Continue to persevere and remain engaged in the struggle. Abandoning the fight will prevent you from gaining valuable insights and personal development.
In discussing his position as Indias second seamer Pandya mentioned “Recently bowling has become very important to me. When Hardik Pandya is bowling I can focus on my batting without concern. My bowling supports my batting.” Additionally he shared his enthusiasm for hitting sixes stating “I have enjoyed hitting sixes since I was 14 but I lacked the strength then. Now I possess the power and my years of dedication are yielding results at the right moment.”
