Bollywood actor Jeetendra who has worked in many superhit films like Tohfa Himmatwala Karvan Parichay Mawali is celebrating his 83rd birthday on 7 April. Jeetendra has been famous for his unique dancing style. He gave 121 hit films but he could never win the Best Actor award. There was a time when he gave about 60 films in 8 years. Jeetendra was born on 7 April 1942 in Amritsar. His real name is Ravi Kapoor. His father Amarnaths job was to supply fake jewellery to the industry. The actor did his schooling in Mumbai itself. Rajesh Khanna was the actors classmate. And both became very good friends. After growing up he started helping his father in his business and during this time he met filmmaker V Shantaram and then his journey to become a hero began. His fee for his first film was Rs 100. He also used to work as a body double.
Jeetendra stopped getting films around 1975 due to which his financial condition worsened. After this when he started making films they started to flop. When he did 60 films in 8 years people started calling him an insecure actor. The actor did more than 200 films but did not get the Best Actor award. However he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award 6 times.
Jeetendra has been jobless for years. But despite this his net worth is said to be Rs 1512 crore. He had told in an interview that he is such an actor who does not have a job.
