Authorities of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy temple (also known as Kanaka Durga temple) started a number of construction projects for the benefit of devotees in response to directives from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
According to K Ramachandramohan, the temple’s executive officer, the works are underway.
A queuing complex with parking and restrooms is being built between Kanakadurganagar and Maha Mandapam as part of the project.
In three months, the six-story Laddu Potu complex—which is expected to cost Rs 27 crore—will be finished. The Annadanam structure is almost finished and will be operational in six months.
Since the current road between Kanakadurganagar and Maha Mandapam was destroyed, a new one will be constructed. Near Maha Mandapam, a tinsel shed will be built.
Soon, the recently built Navagraha Mandapam next to the Malleswara Swamy temple will be dedicated. The temple dedicated to Malleswara Swamy will be surrounded by steel frames. With the help of TTD officials, efforts are on to install copper plates atop Dwajasthambam of the Malleswara Swamy temple, followed by gold plates.
On the route to Malleswara Swamy temple, a stone Yagasala would be built at a cost of Rs 5 crore, according to the temple executive officer. He said that the Rs 6 crore Puja Mandapams were almost finished.
The temple administration is also taking precautions to keep pilgrims safe by installing iron mesh along Ghat Road to stop rocks from falling during the rainy season. For the comfort of devotees, the authorities are also setting up steel seats in various locations.
At Durga Ghat, which is located on the banks of the Krishna River, the temple administration is offering restrooms to its devotees.
The temple administrators are building a multi-level parking facility at Kanaka Durga Nagar to avoid parking issues. For the comfort of devotees throughout the summer, the authorities are placing a high premium on creating vegetation, setting up pandals, and using cool colours.
