Mumbai: Another terrible incident has surfaced in which a patient died as a result of the inconveniences at Shatabdi, a Mumbai Municipal Corporation hospital funded by taxpayers. This incident occurred at Deenanath Hospital in Pune, where a woman died because she was unable to pay the deposit and was not given prompt treatment. Avinash Shirgaonkar, 45, has been confirmed as the dead patient. According to sources, on Monday evening, April 7, Chembur-Ghatla resident Avinash Shirgaonkar began experiencing problems urinating. As a result, his brother Arun brought Avinash to Govandi’s Shatabdi Hospital. Nevertheless, the surgeon wasn’t at the hospital. The hospital management advised Avinash to visit Sion Hospital after a two-hour wait. His health subsequently deteriorated as a result.
He had a full stomach since he was unable to urinate. In the same state, Avinash was brought to Sion Hospital. But he had to go up a few stories on foot since there was no stretcher accessible there. Avinash went to the appropriate department and was informed that there was no doctor there, so he would have to wait for a while. There, too, a long period passed. Avinash passed away at the hospital at last
For the last several months, Govandi Shatabdi Hospital has been dealing with inconvenience. We would not have needed to go to Govandi and Sion if Shatabdi Hospital had been furnished and had qualified medical personnel on staff. Arun Shirgaonkar said he was sorry that his brother’s life was in jeopardy and that so much time had been squandered. Doctors and other personnel are insufficient.
This hospital is currently developing a new super speciality facility, however it is not yet operational. We have participated in several hunger strikes, protests, and complaints to the hospital’s management, but nothing has changed. According to Rajendra Nagrale, a social activist, Shirgaonkar passed away as a result of these problems.
