Shabnam was the prior name of the lady, Shivani, according to Hasanpur Circle Officer Deep Kumar Pant. She has been married twice and has no surviving parents. One state that has an anti-conversion statute is Uttar Pradesh.

Forceful, dishonest, or fraudulent religious conversion is prohibited under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. Although no formal complaints have been made as of yet, police said that they are now investigating the marriage’s conditions.

According to the circle officer, Shivani’s first marriage ended in divorce after she wed a guy in Meerut. Following that, she wed Taufiq, a Saidanwali village native who suffered a disability following a car accident in 2011.

She just started dating a guy in Class 12 who is around eighteen years old. Then, on Friday of last week, Shabnam filed for and was granted a divorce from Taufiq. She then changed her name to Shivani and became a Hindu.

Dataram Singh, Shiva’s father and a native of Saidanwali, told reporters that he supports his son’s choice and that if the pair is happy, the family is happy too. “We only hope that both live together peacefully,” he said.
