New Delhi: On May 4 Riyan Parag achieved a remarkable feat in Rajasthan Royals IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. Batting at number four he scored 95 runs off 45 balls including six fours and eight sixes a performance that included the first ever six consecutive sixes in an IPL match. This innings came while Parag captained RR in Sanju Samsons absence.
In the 13th over bowled by Moeen Ali he hit five consecutive sixes. He followed this by hitting another six off the second ball of the 14th over bowled by Varun Chakaravarthy.
While five IPL players have achieved five consecutive sixes only one Parag has hit six in a row.
While three players Yuvraj Singh Kieron Pollard and Dipendra Singh Airee have each hit six sixes in a single over during T20I matches this feat has yet to be accomplished in an IPL match.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) suffered a narrow one-run defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens despite a strong individual performance from Parag. This loss RRs ninth of the season leaves them with six points from twelve matches placing them eighth in the IPL standings. KKRs bowling attack was effective with Harshit Rana Moeen Ali and Varun Chakaravarthy each taking two wickets and Vaibhav Arora claiming one.
During the run chase Parag was dismissed for a big shot attempt in the 18th overs fourth ball. Rana bowled and Vaibhav took the catch.
