On Wednesday (January 28) also, a case was reported from Vikasnagar area of Uttarakhand. In this, a young man selling shawls was assaulted, on whom Iltija Mehbooba Mufti has attacked.
Iltija wrote about the incident on social media platform This is one of many incidents of violence against Kashmiris in India, where the perpetrators know they have institutional immunity.

Late evening on Wednesday (January 28) in Vikasnagar area of Uttarakhand, a Kashmiri youth, who was only 18 years old, was beaten up. In this attack, the young man's left hand was fractured, while he suffered serious injuries due to being hit on the head with an iron rod.
When the condition of the young man deteriorated, he was first taken to the local hospital, from where the doctors referred him to Doon Hospital in Dehradun. Where he is being treated. The victim's family said that the attack was not carried out suddenly but after asking for identification. As soon as the young man told the people that he was from Kashmir and belonged to the Muslim community. Immediately after this people started beating him.
