The Value of Hydraulic Infrastructure

In my opinion, water resources infrastructure with all its beneits is the future of the nation to realize social welfare. Integrated water management by water resources infrastructure affects the quality of people's lives, considering the important role of water in every sector of living creatures, including humans, from daily needs to industry. Here are the reasons why water infrastructure is important. First, water resources infrastructure provides raw or drinking water, irrigation, electricity generation and lood control. Second, water resource infrastructure, such as reservoirs and dams, can also be utilized in the isheries sector by catching ishermen and developing tourism by turning it into a tourist spot. These beneits show that the development of water resources infrastructure supports community life by realizing water security, food sovereignty,
environmental sustainability and economic prosperity and has been recognized and used as a means by the government to improve the quality of life and welfare of the community. From the reasons above, it can be seen that the existence of water resources infrastructure provides many beneits and has an important role in supporting community welfare. The existence of water resources infrastructure will overcome the problem of seasonal variations and imbalances in water availability by meeting raw water and irrigation needs and realizing water security in Indonesia.
