Free LPG cylinder Diwali Latest Update: The ruling BJP in Uttar Pradesh has announced free LPG cylinders for Diwali this year. In a recent announcement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that free LPG gas cylinders will be provided to Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Diwali. Also, he had informed on his X page that the work had already started and he had ordered the government officials to complete all the procedures before Diwali and distribute free cylinders. In this context, an important announcement has been made about getting a free gas cylinder.

How to get a free cylinder?
That is, by October 31, all the beneficiaries who have received cylinders under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana have been advised to update their e-KYC immediately. Those who do not will not get a free cylinder. Therefore, agency operators on behalf of cylinder companies are also conducting e-KYC door-to-door for the beneficiaries. Among them, they are facing great difficulty in tracing the beneficiaries who have changed their address and phone numbers.
Central Govt Cylinder Subsidy Amount

Under the Ujjwala scheme, the central government sends Rs.350 and the state government sends Rs.615 to the bank account of the beneficiary who takes the cylinder. There are about 2.36 lakh Ujjwala beneficiaries in Varanasi region alone. Out of which 35 thousand beneficiaries have not updated their e-KYC till now. Due to this, the beneficiary's bank account details cannot be registered on the NPCI website, resulting in a huge delay in subsidy payments.

The grant amount is remitted to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries only through NPCI. Varanasi LPG Distributors Association President Kumar Aggarwal said: It is difficult to trace the beneficiaries who have changed their address and mobile numbers. These beneficiaries have to get e-KYC by 31st October. He said that only they will get free gas cylinders on Diwali.
