Sanju Samson, the standout batsman and wicketkeeper for India, recently spoke about his chat with captain Rohit Sharma before the 2024 T20 World Cup final.

India won their second T20 World Cup after defeating South Africa by 7 runs in the final.

Rohit spoke with Sanju just before the toss; however, Sanju was left out of the playing XI for the summit match.

Samson was happy that Rohit opted to spend time with the player who wasn’t even on the squad for the final rather than spending his time with the players of the chosen XI, even if he didn’t get picked.

“I believed that a major event like a World Cup final would follow this. You have changed your mind before the final. Just before the toss, you spent ten minutes with the non-playing participant. Before the toss, he gave me ten minutes. Following that, I learned that this individual has further attributes.

“I would be considering the guys on the field or my hitting if I were in their shoes. You often assume that I will explain to Sanju later. “I have to explain to Sanju why I made that decision,” he thought at that moment. He gained a place in my heart that will last a lifetime at that moment.
