Third Test between England and Pakistan: In order to field a three-pronged spin attack on a Rawalpindi pitch, England has made two changes to their playing XI for the third and final test match against Pakistan. Leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed is being called up for the first time since the red-ball match against India in Rajkot back in February.

Two things have changed since the second test in Multan. Legspinner Rehan Ahmed is picked for the first time since the Test match against India in Rajkot in February, while seamer Gus Atkinson makes a comeback. Matthew Potter and Brydon Carse of Durham are both out, according to an official announcement from England Cricket.

In addition to top spinners Shoaib Bashir and Jack Leach, Ahmed has been called up to participate. Pacer Gus Atkinson will also be included in the starting lineup, replacing Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts.

In order to control workload, England has chosen to rest key fast bowlers Carse and Potts. Atkinson was called up after his incredible 4 for 145 performance in the first Test. Carse took nine wickets at 24.33 in his fantastic first series.

At 1-1, the three-match Test series between England and Pakistan is in a precarious position. Pakistan fiercely rallied to tie the series with a 152-run victory in the second Test at the same location after England dominated the first, winning by 47 runs and completing a convincing innings.

Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith (wk), Gus Atkinson, Rehan Ahmed, Jack Leach, and Shoaib Bashir are the members of the England team for the third Test.
