The assembly election campaign in Maharashtra has now reached its last phase. Voting will be held on 288 seats in the state on November 20. In such a situation, the campaign will stop 48 hours in advance i.e. on the evening of 18th November. There will be holiday in banks and schools also on the day of voting. Besides, there will be no trading in the stock market on that day. Let us tell you that the results of the assembly elections will be declared on 23 November and the assembly will be dissolved on 26 November.
NSE, in its notification dated November 8, had said that the exchange notifies Wednesday, November 20, 2024 as a trading holiday due to the assembly elections in Maharashtra. Let us tell you that there will be no trading in equity, equity derivatives and SLB segments on BSE and NSE. Not only this, trading in currency derivatives segment will also be closed. Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and National Commodity Exchange (NCDEX) will not trade between 9 am to 5 pm on this date.
A total of 3 holidays were observed in the market this month. The market was closed on 1 November due to Muhurta trading. The bus was opened for a short while in the evening. After that, trading in the market was closed on 15th November on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Now again the market will remain closed on 20th November. That means there will be no trading in the market for a total of three additional days.
Let us tell you that on 18th November, all the banks in Karnataka are closed on Kanakdas Jayanti. Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya on 23rd November on the occasion of Seng Kutsnem. Also, 23rd November is also the fourth Saturday. Banks will remain closed on Sunday, November 24 in all Indian states and union territories (UTs). If you have to do important transactions in these three days, then you can do your work through the bank's website and mobile banking app. You can also go to ATM to withdraw cash. But you will not be able to do any official work by going to the bank.
