To begin, you’ll need the following ingredients...
  • 1 tbsp melted unsalted butter (14g)

  • 200g self-raising flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 egg

  • 250ml milk

  • 2 tbsp caster sugar

  • greaseproof paper

The whole point of pancakes is to keep things simple, so if you prefer to add all the ingredients into the one bowl, by all means. However, for extra fluffy pancakes, mix all the wet ingredients first and then sift in the dry ingredients.

Next, prepare sheets of greaseproof baking paper that are equal in size and fit the shape of the air fryer. Place one sheet on the bottom of the air fryer tray and ladle the batter onto it. A helpful tip is keeping the pancakes small to avoid spillage.

Then, lay another sheet of baking paper on top and ladle more batter accordingly. Continue this until you have no more than five pancake servings on top of one another. Bake the pancakes at the highest temperature or 200C for five minutes, flipping them halfway through.

If necessary, gently rotate the pancake stack to encourage even cooking. The pancakes are done when they are golden brown and spring back when lightly pressed.
