Delhi Delhi. Reliance Jio is seeing a boom in the speed of joining the Jio Airfiber/5G fixed wireless access (5GFA) subscriber.

According to a CLSA report, 85 percent of the 2 million houses in the third quarter of 2024–25 were Reliance Jio customers.

In addition, the CLSA report states that about 70 percent of the new houses of Reliance Jio's 5GFWA/Jio Airfiber are coming from outside the top thousand towns/cities.

Fixed wireless access devices provide fiber -like speed through air without any wire. Users just have to plug it in, turn it on, and that's all and their homes will have a personal Wi-Fi hotspot.

The CLSA said in a telecom sector outlook report, “This mixture of connecting 5GFWA subscribers shows that comprehensive service availability has opened up the suppressed demand from top cities and towns across India.” The asset management firm CLSA said that the total number of sector leader's total connected homes has now increased to 17 million due to the two million home subscribers of the 5GFWA/Jio Airfor, which is 90 percent more than Bharti Airtel.

Reliance Jio also claims that he has a significant advantage of taking first steps in the 5GFWA/Jio Airfor and has already reached a total of 4.5 million houses.

The CLSA said, “According to Arzio, it is going to become the largest 5GFWA service provider globally (Teamobile has 6 million) and is a greenfield opportunity to connect 100 million houses in India.”

Jio had announced that it had added 2 million new houses during the quarter ended December 2024. This is three times the quarterly home edition of Airtel.

Bharti Airtel has also expanded 5GFWA service coverage in 2,000 cities across India. In the business of homes, Bharti is starting the 5G FWA availability as well as the introduction of Fiber to Home (FTTH) Home Pass (an increase of 1.9 percent per quarter). CLSA said, “Bharti's CEO believes that the domestic market may double to 80–90 million in the medium period.” Motilal Oswal also recently said in a note, “In a short time, RJIO has increased its FWA, Jio Airfiber to 4.5 million homes and is on the way to become the largest FWA provider globally in the next few quarters.” According to Counterpoint Research, India is on the way to become the world's leading 5G FWA market by 2027 to become the world's leading 5G FWA market.
